About us

Yorkshire's largest beer festival and one of the highlights of the UK beer festival calendar, with over 500 beers and 100 ciders including foreign beers and wines. It takes place every September on York Knavesmire – 150 acres of gorgeous parkland that has hosted events since Roman times. Last year it was named by TripAdvisor as one of the best things to do in the UK.

Set in huge marquees opposite York Racecourse Grandstand by the Clocktower, this friendly and fun festival draws people from not just the UK but all over the world. There is a wide selection of hot food available onsite from street food vendors plus a massive beer garden for those who prefer outdoor drinking. Plentiful seating is provided indoor and out.

There is live music daily with a wide and varied range of styles from local acts guaranteed to please the crowds. Families are very welcome and the site is child friendly due to the floor being grass ! All under 18's have to leave the site by 8pm.

To get there catch the special festival return bus service to right outside the festival from York Station which runs regularly daily from midday until 11.45pm. All the festival details are available on the website including ticket details or pay on the door.

Road Directions

Don't drink and drive !! If you're getting dropped off, the festival is at the very top of Knavesmire Rd. There will be limited on-street parking for cars adjacent to the festival on Knavesmire Road, but of course we do not recommend driving to the festival unless you are a non-drinker. There is plenty of parking for bikes.

A special festival return bus service, in association with York Pullman, will operate from 19/09/18 to 22/09/18 departing from York Rail Station

The fares to be paid by the passengers direct to the driver are £2.00 – Single. £3.00 – Return
