Tintoretto: A Rebel in Venice

About

TINTORETTO: A REBEL IN VENICE, narrated by BAFTA Award-winner Helena Bonham Carter, is coming to the big screen at select cinemas from the 26 February.

This documentary celebrates the 500th anniversary of the birth of the last great artist of the Italian Renaissance. It will explore the rivalry among the most important Venetian artists of the 16th century: Tintoretto, Titian and Veronese.

This visually spectacular new art film explores Tintoretto as the true mirror of Venice. A one-of-a-kind genius, open-minded, restless, brave and with a strong love for freedom-as well as unstable and elusive-he reflected the true spirit of the lagoon city.

Now the work of the artist dubbed a 'proto-rockstar' by David Bowie and 'the first film director in history' by Jean-Paul Sartre can finally be experienced up close in a stunning cinema experience, featuring special guest Peter Greenaway.

Booking is key as the film will only be shown once. To book tickets for Tintoretto: A Rebel in Venice, please visit: https://mycineplace.com/event-releases/tintoretto-a-rebel-in-venice

The next films in the series include:

28 April: The Prado Museum: A Collection of Wonders. Jeremy Irons will take viewers on an immersive experience through the works and history of The Prado Museum in Madrid in its 200th anniversary year.

3 June: Hermitage: The Power of Art. Actor Toni Servillo journeys around the second largest museum in the world, touching on some of the three million works of art, Russian history and the cultural events that led to the development of the Hermitage itself.
