About us

The Legions of Rome return to invade the ancient city of York this June for the annual Eboracum Roman Festival.
The sights, sounds and smells of Roman Eboracum come to life in the beautiful York Museum Gardens with a Roman Living History camp, an Archaeological Zone, talks, lectures, tours and much more!
On Saturday and Sunday come and see the Roman Parades as the Roman Emperor, six Roman Legions and Roman civilians march through the iconic streets of York.
Hear talks from best-selling authors of your favourite Roman novels and lectures from expert speakers as they share their knowledge of Roman Eboracum.
Plus, don't miss a visit to the Yorkshire Museum, host to a programme of fun family-friendly activities and home to some of Britain's greatest Roman treasures. Walk on a genuine Roman mosaic floor; see the statue of Mars – the finest example of a Roman statue ever found in Britain; marvel at the marble head of Constantine and stand at the tombstone of Lucius Duccius Rufinus, Standard Bearer of the Ninth Legion.
From a special launch event with archaeologist Dr Peter Addyman CBE, walking tours and an arena of entertainment to Roman storytelling, dress-up and army drills, enjoy activities and events for all ages throughout the weekend.

Free admission. No booking required.
