To reassure all our guests, please click HERE to see all measure put in place at The Private Hill to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Private Hill is an officially 5 Star Gold rated destination. Somewhere to leave the real world behind and to immerse yourself in pure indulgence, in the privacy of stunning nature. Helmsley, the Wolds, Pickering and Pocklington are just some of the wonders that are nearby, and well worth exploring, as well as the incredibly beautiful city of York which is only 25 mins away.

Enjoy all the benefits of this breathtaking setting, with views for miles, but without the need to put your wellies on - unless you want to!  The farm hosts superb geodesic domes, each named after one of its earlier prized pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle. Every dome is just like a room you would expect to find in a 5 star boutique hotel with sumptuously comfortable twin, or super king beds (your choice on booking), luxury sheets and duvets, a choice of pillows and of course a minibar fridge with a small freezer too.

A maximum of two adults and up to two children (max.12 y.o) can be accommodated in each dome. Inside is a gorgeous wood burning stove, a small kitchenette with a Nespresso coffee machine and Miele microwave oven, plus access to Sonos streamed music. Facilities inside the domes are also fully en-suite and self contained.

The Cafe & Bar at Jane's Dome offers a chill out space, Coffee, Teas, Hot Chocolates, Jo's Home Baked Cakes, Wines, Beers and Spirits.

When staying within this glam retreat you'll be able to enjoy numerous nearby activities and attractions and can also book Alpaca Walking and Experience Tours on the farm.

In the evening Guests can enjoy a 3-course freshly cooked, romantic, candlelit dinner in Jane's Dome (September to May) or, in summer (May-August), a locally sourced steak, baked potato, and green vegetables served from the Jane's Dome BBQ on their spacious decking whilst enjoying a range of delicious wines.

All domes have individual Fire Pits (May - September)

The site remains open year round.

*Our brand new Geodesic Domes, each named after one of our earlier prized pedigree Aberdeen Angus Cattle, are truly en-suite. No need to cross a wet, windy, and often cold, field or decking in the middle of the night when you stay at The Private Hill.

Each dome is just like a room you would expect to find in a Luxury Boutique Hotel with sumptuously comfortable Twin, or SuperKing, beds (please let us know your preference at the time of booking), luxury sheets and duvets, a choice of pillows and of course a stocked minibar fridge with a small freezer too.

A maximum of two adults and up to two children (max. age 12 y.o.) can be accommodated in each dome. Children have a choice of either rather cool hanging 'cocoon' style beds (max.age 7) or a comfy two seater sofa bed for those a little older and taller.

What you also get is a gorgeous wood burning stove, a small kitchenette with Nespresso coffee machine and Miele microwave oven, access to Sonos Music and views that stretch for over 60 miles when you open your curtains on a fine day.

Each dome has full access to Jane's Dome where you can enjoy breakfast, be tempted by Jo's delicious home baked Cafe offerings, or experience our romantic, candlelit, 3-course dining with a drink or two from our fully licensed bar.
