A charming Victorian former rectory, now a stylish & friendly small hotel providing bed & breakfast in the centre of the historic walled city, five minutes’ walk from the Shambles with York’s many attractions, bars and restaurants on the doorstep.

In a fabulous location within the ancient city walls, just five minutes’ walk to the Shambles with York’s many attractions and the fantastic restaurants and cafés of Walmgate and Fossgate on the doorstep.

All our stylish and deeply comfortable bedrooms have natural fabrics, flat-screen
freeview TVs, tea and coffee and en suite bath or shower rooms with luxury organic toiletries.

Our rates include a locally sourced full cooked Yorkshire breakfast and wireless internet access. Check in is from 3 pm and check out is up to 11 am and luggage can be stored outside those times.

There is limited free car parking on-site available on a first-come, first served basis

Road Directions

The St Denys is easily accessible from York Train Station: it is less than a 20 minute walk away, a 5 minute/£5 taxi ride or a 10 minute bus ride (Number 44 from Rail Station Stop D).

If coming by car from the A1 take the Junction 44 exit onto the A64 York/Leeds (North) to York and continue round the ring road exiting onto the A1079, follow to York City Centre. At the junction, pass straight through Walmgate Bar and St Denys Road is the 5th street on the left. The hotel is on the left opposite the Church.
