The Judge’s Lodging

About us

In a fantastic location, within the shadow of York Minster, the Judges Lodgings is the only Grade 1 listed Georgian Town House hotel within the centre of York, and features stylish rooms, popular cellar bar, hearty food and two sun terraces.

Following a £2.2 million development in 2014, The Judge’s Lodging is full of the many quirky features you’d expect a building of its age to have, but also contains some very 21st century touches. The blend of old and new ensures there is plenty of character to enjoy.

Our 21 guest rooms are each special and unique, some have four-poster beds, some have spa baths and all have en-suite bathrooms. Many afford fabulous views of York Minster! Each room is filled with the small details which make it feel like a home away from home; complimentary WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk, comfortable beds and plump pillows, complimentary toiletries and our unique good night sleep packs.

Our restaurant and bar offer a place to unwind while enjoying quality food, an enviable range of cask ales, and the best cocktails, wines and fizz! Choose to relax in our cosy cellar bar, feature glass box, the cask ale bar or one of our spacious sun terraces.
