The Grand framed by the city walls

About us

Experience York's most luxurious address at The Grand, York, Yorkshire's only AA rated 5-star hotel. Housed in the former headquarters of the North Eastern Railway, the stunning Edwardian building retains much of his stunning architecture and original features with views of the York Minster and the city's ancient walls.

Following a recent £15m expansion, The Grand opened 100 new luxury guest rooms, taking the total to 207, as well as a new arrivals lounge, exclusive White Rose Lounge and two new restaurants. The Rise Restaurant, Terrace & Bar offers a modern twist on British favourites with fresh, seasonal produce served from an open kitchen whilst 3 AA Rosette Hudsons by Craig Atchinson delivers an intimate, nine-course fine dining experience for residents and non-residents alike. The 1906 Bar also offers an impressive array of whiskys and cocktails.

The luxury spa, housed in the atmsopheric former vaults offers specialist treatments, an indoor pool, steam room, whirlpool and gym with complimentary access for Executive Rooms and above.

The Grand, York offers a warm and friendly Yorkshire welcome for all guests, and is perfectly suited for leisure breaks, wedding, events and conferences.
