St Raphael’s Guest House

About us

We are Fran & Jamie, welcome to our family run bed and breakfast which is conveniently located in a quiet Victorian road just 500 metres from the city centre. We offer a range of comfortable rooms to cater for everyone…including families. We also bake our own bread every morning so that you can wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread and enjoy our large breakfast selection.

Property  built  in 1895 and has lots of original features including victorian mosaic entrance hall. All rooms are en-suite and we cater for double, triples and quadruple bookings. Wifi is available  throughout the building for free and all rooms include flat screen TV’s and tea & coffee making facilities.

We have also just launched our new flat @ St Raphael which is a self contained flat with private entrance and courtyard for those wanting a centrally located quiet place to stay that is self  catering (or you can join us  for  breakfast).

Public Transport Directions

This is the quickest route, taking approx 7 minutes  from York station.  (If it's pouring with rain, or after dusk, take a taxi from the station exit; cost £6).  Walk towards platform 2; then towards "The York Tap" pub, still inside the station; then keep left through the car park to the far end of the station.  Proceed down the ramp, and at the exit gate turn left following the sign to the Riverside.  Turn left at the river and go up the steps and over the foot bridge.  At the end of the footbridge, turn left towards the car park and follow the path between the car park (to the right) and rail line (to the left).  At the end of the car park turn left under the 20 metre tunnel.  At the tunnel exit, cross Bootham Terrace and continue down the alley way opposite you. Queen Annes Road is the next road you come to. You'll find us towards the far end of the road on the right hand side
