Pavilion Cottage

Pavilion cottage is a five-bedroomed semi-detached property which was a former cricket pavilion so is located on the boundary of an active cricket pitch.

The cottage comprises a kingsize bedroom with ensuite bath/shower room, a double room, two twin rooms and a 5th room which can be arranged as either a king or a twin. We also have a travel cot for under two year olds.

The house is well appointed and stocked with books, DVDs, games etc. There is an assortment of baking and cooking utensils in the kitchen and basic store cupboard ingredients for those who want to cook here, though the Dormouse pub at the end of the lane is also a draw as it serves local beers and a good selection of wine and food in the restaurant where you can book a table to ensure you get your meal when you want it.

Children are very welcome at Pavilion Cottage and we have a room with plenty of toys, books and games to keep children of all ages amused.

Your dog is welcome to come on holiday here too and I regularly refer to the surrounding area as doggy heaven – so many local people walk their dogs on the Ings and along the river Ouse just next to Pavilion Cottage.
Active guests can easily walk or cycle into York city centre from the cottage, otherwise there is a regular bus service from the main road or a 10 minute drive to the nearest car park.
We always try to make the welcome to Pavilion Cottage special for each set of guests so feel free to let us know if you are celebrating something in particular.

Pavilion Cottage is ideally located to make use of leisure facilities in the surrounding area including golf, fishing, horse-riding, children’s play areas, swimming pools, climbing walls, cinema, ten-pin bowling, laserquest and much more on offer to visitors to York.

Road Directions

Pavilion Cottage is on the number 2 bus route which goes from the Rawcliffe Bar Park & Ride (located at the A1237 end of Shipton Rd) into York City Centre stopping amongst other places, near York Railway Station and at York library, by the Museum Gardens.

Taxis are familiar with the cottage and Clifton Allience Cricket Club so should know the route here.

If driving, Pavilion Cottage is located in the fields off Shipton Road which is the A19 heading into York from the A1237 outer ring road to the North of the city centre. You turn off Shipton Road into Clifton Park Avenue where there are brick walls marking the entry (also signposted Mulberry Court nursing home and Clifton Park NHS Clinic). Go straight over the mini roundabout marking the entrance to the Dormouse Pub & Premier Inn hotel, take next left to cricket field and Pavilion Cottage is at the end of the bumpy track, you are in the cottage on the left as you look at the property.
