About us

Grimston House, which has been under new ownership since August 2017, is situated in an acre of mature garden 5 miles south of York on the A19 to Selby. Built in the 1930's, Grimston House exudes charm and character with spacious rooms set back from the road.  There is a frequent bus service to York and Selby and you can park free of charge whilst staying at Grimston House.   

Grimston House is accessible from all major trunk roads with a frequent bus service to York just outside the gate. The park and ride at McArthur Glen is 2 miles away and there is ample safe parking outside the house.  Elvington air museum  and racetrack are 10 minutes drive and York University is easily accessible being on the south of York. There is a pub 2 minutes walk and restaurants within half a mile at Escrick

All rooms except one are en suite but that has its own private bathroom. We provide hospitality trays with hot and cold drinks fresh milk , homemade cake and infamous cookies from Harmony House in Stillingfleet. Breakfast is included in the price of your stay and our produce is always locally sourced or home made. Tea and cakes on arrival between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm if you are staing for 2 nights or more.
