About us

Lovely 3 bedroom townhouse, just a few minutes walk to York's beautiful historic centre. Our Victorian period home has original features, a wood burning stove, attic room with Minster view, a pretty courtyard garden and little summerhouse.

Early arrivals and late departures are possible with our free luggage store. Access by train or car is easy.

With a self check-in system, free wifi, parking and a knowledgeable local host on hand you can look forward to a fun and relaxing stay in York!

Guests will have exclusive use of the entire house and garden, so your family and friends will be comfortable and have privacy. Keyless self check-in means greater flexibility for coming and going.

Drinks - We offer a wide range of teas, coffee and other refreshing drinks. Dining - 6 seater dining table / chairs, plus a lovely summerhouse with 4 seater table / chairs set.

Young children - High chair, travel cot, kids games + books
Storage - External luggage store, storage for bicycles and motorbikes

Bedrooms / sleeping arrangements:
Master bedroom - Kingsize bed
2nd bedroom - Double bed overlooking the courtyard garden
Attic bedroom - Double futon bed. Note: the steps are a little narrow and the ceiling is low in parts - Children tend to love it though! Suitable for one adult or two children.

Additional beds - There is also a single sofabed in the living room and a travel cot that may be set up.

The Attic Room - Fitted with a double futon, the room would suit one adult or children (as it is low in parts). It has a cool reading corner! The velux sky light windows have built in blinds for night time.

Road Directions

Address: 25, Lowther St, York, YO31 7LA.

Arrival by train: York train station is 1 mile away. Taxis are available from right outside the front entrance without the need for booking. Rail tickets can be purchased on www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Walking from the train station: This takes about 20 minutes - Over Lendal Bridge, right past the Minster and along Goodramgate, then Monkgate. It is a very scenic route :)

Arrival by car:
Approaching from Monkgate/Huntington Road - Drive up Park Crescent (road), then turn right into Bowling Green Lane. The house is by the corner of Lowther Street and Bowling Green Lane. *Due to the one-way system in this area you can not access Lowther Street directly from Huntington Road.

Approaching from the hospital/Clarence Street direction (B1363), drive along Lowther Street (this is the direction of traffic for the one-way system).
