The Elmbank Hotel is part of The Cairn Collection which boasts a variety of Hotels across the UK & are continuously expanding as a successful group.

Situated close to the historic city of York, The Elmbank Hotel provides an ideal base for all visitors whether travelling on business or pleasure. It is within a 10 minute walk to York City Centre with easy access to the train station, bus stops and main roads if you would like to explore.

Designed by architects J. B. & W. Atkinson and built around 1870, the Elmbank is a city hotel in a grade II listed building with a country house atmosphere. Murals, frescoes and a magnificent oak staircase leading to a gallery with stained glass windows are just a few of the fine examples of art nouveau introduced in the interior of the hotel by George Walton, follower of Charles Rennie Macintosh.

Providing inviting luxury and modern indulgence, all the 62 guest rooms, including The Lodge, have been tastefully redecorated with the addition of modern comforts that perfectly complement timeless Art Nouveau. Taking centre stage at the heart of the hotel, Leetham’s Brasserie, prides itself on being an inviting yet opulent environment with the gracious hospitality to match that serves up a memorable dining experience every time.
