About us

Bracken Lodge Bed and Breakfast is situated in the beautiful village of Bishopthorpe, 3 miles from York City Centre and has private car parking. All rooms en suite and free Wi-Fi, quiet location, close to York Racecourse. Frequent bus service in to York and one mile from the Park & Ride at Askham Bar. York Designer Outlet is approximately 4 miles.

From the North/South (A1M)
Join the A64 York and take the 2nd exit for York A1036

Go straight through first set of traffic lights, left at the second set but then get immediately in to the right hand lane to go straight ahead at next set of traffic lights signpost Bishopthorpe.
York College will be on your left hand side. Head into Bishopthorpe village and turn left at the end of Sim Balk Lane in to Main Street. Bracken Lodge is approximately 100 yards on the right hand side. Ample off street parking available.

From the West (A59) to York
At the roundabout with the A1237 take the third exit towards Leeds (A64). Go straight through two roundabouts, at the third roundabout take the first exit on to the A64 heading East towards Scarborough. After approximately 0.5 miles take the first exit on to the A1036 – York West (Askham Bar) and follow the directions outlined above.

From the East (A64)
Take the A1036 exit for York West (Askham Bar), once on the slip road stay in the right hand lane and continue through traffic lights, at the next set of traffic lights continue straight ahead in to Bishopthorpe village, York College will be on your left hand side. Head into Bishopthorpe village and turn left at the end of Sim Balk Lane in to Main Street. Bracken Lodge is approximately 100 yards on the right hand side. Ample off street parking available.
