About us

Ashley House is a small and friendly family-run guest house with 6 guest bedrooms. Lovely bright clean en-suite bedrooms, free permit available for on-street parking.

Excellent location - just minutes from the city walls, historic locations and half way between the city centre and York Racecourse.

Single occupancy of rooms is not available during race days, bank holidays and busy periods.


Delicious home cooked breakfasts ranging from French toast with blueberries to a traditional Yorkshire breakfast.

A cosy lounge is available to guests and WiFi access free of charge.

Check-in times between 10am-1pm or 5pm-7pm. (outside these times can also be arranged).

By Road:

A1-A64 (from Leeds) - leave at 'York West' exit and follow signs for city centre. After racecourse is passed on the right turn right at the second set of lights onto Scarcroft Road. Scott Street is the second last street on the right.

By Public Transport:

From railway station 5 minutes by taxi
From Rougier Street (bus depot) go through city walls to railway station and take the South Bank Bus (No 23)
