Prior to completing your licence application, please download and read our Trader Health and Safety Standards document. This document will guide you through the risks and controls your business must have in place before trading.
When applying to trade at Shambles Market you will need to complete a risk assessment.
You can use your own or you can use the Shambles Market example which can be downloaded on the link below. Please make sure you have completed your risk assessment before trading.
All traders must be able to show that they understand the health and safety requirements of your business, including the standards for trading on the market.
Once your application has been approved, you must undergo a Health and Safety Induction process.
As part of this process, you must watch the Make It York Shambles Market Health and Safety video - see below.
After watching the induction video, the Market Management Team will send you a link to complete the health and safety induction test online. If you do not have access to a smart phone or computer, please let the team know and they will guide you through the process.
