Janette Ray Booksellers is one of the few specialist and independent booksellers for books on the visual arts in the UK. The shop has an extensive range of  modern books, antiquarian books, original  drawings, prints and photographs all relating to design. We offer world wide shipping and gift wrapping. We have a book finding service, can provide specialist conference bookstalls and also have an online shop. We always offer a friendly personal service. Janette Ray Booksellers also is part of the management team for the York National Book Fair held annually in September and which is be largest book fair in the UK

There is a ground floor shop with diverse stock with appeal for discerning individuals and collectors and an upper floor with unusual items for you to discover. Come and visit us.

  • Parking with charge - Parking is close by at Bootham Row Car Park as a short stay facility. Slightly more distant is the large long stay carpark at Marygate. Both are signed from Bootham.

  • Shop Specialities - This shop is a specialist shop for books on the arts new and old. We also always have a wide range of original art work, photographs and prints for sale on art related themes. There are occasional changing art exhibitions which complement the book stock.
