The Deep

 

The Deep, Hull’s award-winning aquarium, is located just a 60 minute drive from York.

Situated in the City Centre with easy access and on site car parking, visitors can enjoy over 3,500 fish including spectacular sharks and rays, as well as a colony of Gentoo penguins.


Journey through the story of the world’s oceans travelling through a unique blend of spectacular marine life from warm tropical waters to the cold Antarctic seas. Enjoy the fun and educational interactive and audio-visual presentations on your voyage of discovery.


 

Endless Ocean

See our divers hand feed the sharks and rays at Endless Ocean (Monday, Wednesday and Friday 2pm, Tuesday and Thursday are cleaning dives), the smaller inhabitants in the colourful Lagoon on Saturday and Amazon Flooded Forest on Sundays at 2pm.

 

Dylan's Discovery Corner

Stop by Dylan’s Discovery Corner next to the Lagoon and learn about some of the smaller native species to the UK shores. Join in with a touchpool sessions throughout the day and get hands-on with smaller animals like starfish and sea urchins.

 

Penguins

Don’t miss The Deep’s very own VIP’s, that’s Very Important penguins! See them in chilly The Kingdom of Ice as they are hand-fed by their keepers at 11.30am and 3.30pm whilst our Guides explain more about their species and threats to their habitat.

 
 

Underwater tunnel

Head inside the underwater tunnel and take in the stunning marine life swimming all above you, before taking a ride in the bubble lift through the 10m Endless Ocean exhibit. Keep your eye out for a sneak peek behind the scenes as you go!

 

Deepartment Store gift shop

Before you head home be sure to visit the Deepartment store, which sells an array of souvenirs and gifts. From cuddly toys to books, pottery to clothing, there is something to suit all ages and pockets.

 

Food & DrinkCastaways café offers a range of homemade hot/cold meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day. In peak times, a snack bar serving light bites is also available halfway round the attraction. We also offer indoor and outdoor picnic areas.
