Why do I need a YorkCard to take part in Residents Festival?

YorkCard is a quick and efficient way to access all the special offers available during Residents Festival, allowing organisations involved to identify residents easily, speeding up the process so as many people as possible can get involved.

The York Card isn’t just for the festival, it gives you access to a series of special, resident-only offers across the year, as well as acting as your library card for YorkExplore sites across the city.

What are the year-long benefits of buying a York Card?

A York Card gives you a range of discounts and offers from 19 venues and organisations across the city for twelve months. This can give you a potential saving of more than £50 over the year (based on one visit only) - offers include free entry to York Minster, 40% discount on an annual York Museums Trust pass, 50% off admission to York Mansion House and 20% off entry to the JORVIK Viking Centre.

How much do the YorkCards cost?

The YorkCard is £6 for adult residents. The YorkCard is free if you are in receipt of the following means tested benefits: Disability Living Allowance, Carers Allowance, Council Tax Support, Widowed Parents Allowance, or Universal Credit. You just need to show library staff your awarding letter from DWP or CYC when applying for the YorkCard.

How do I get my YorkCard?

A York Card will be issued to you at any Explore Library as part of your library card. A list of library branches to go into to get your YorkCard and opening times is available here: http://www.exploreyork.org.uk/libraries/
