• Hotel and Airbnb occupancy
• Average room rates
• Average revenue rates
• Visits to big and small attractions
• Visits to attractions with a York Pass
• Sessions on visityork.org
• Impressions and new followers on Visit York social media channels
• City centre footfall

Not only does this vital market intelligence track the health of tourism in the city and provide a timely snapshot of performance of the sector, but it helps you, as a member or partner of Visit York, to benchmark your own business performance.

York Visitor Profile Reports

Visitor surveys have been conducted in York for over 20 years, with up to 1,000 visitors interviewed face to face in York each year (apart from during the Covid pandemic).

The overriding aim of the visitor survey is to evaluate visitors’ experiences and satisfaction levels of York and its tourism offer. The results provide tourism intelligence to support economic analysis, and product and marketing decision making.
