As a member of Visit York, you have the benefit of a comprehensive listing on our website, visityork.org which generated over 1.4 million sessions in 2018.
The following FAQs will help you troubleshoot any questions you may have under the following categories:

If you need to reset your password, click on the ‘forgotten password’ link on the Extranet login page
The Extranet system is used to update the content on your web listing. Help on how to do this, plus other useful help video can be found here (you must be logged in to the extranet to access).
Updates to the website are made as follows:
Your web listing on visityork.org - All updates to content and images on your individual listing will be made through the Extranet
Adding an event to visityork.org - All events will be submitted directly through the website here Updating accommodation availability on visityork.org (Only if you are an accommodation provider using the Guestlink system to sell accommodation through visityork.org) - Accommodation availability will continue to be updated through the Guestlink system.
Click on the ‘forgotten password’ link on the Extranet login page https://extranet-nvg.newmindets.net and you will be prompted to put in your email address and you’ll receive an email to help reset your password.
You can have a maximum of 5 logins. Please email digitalteam@makeityork.com with; full name, position, telephone number & email of any additional contacts.
If you want to communicate that your business is currently open and for your to appear on this page detailing 'What is open in York', follow the above instructions to login to the extranet, choose the product you want to edit, click on 'Actions' > 'Edit Product', navigate to the ‘Classifications’ > 'Facilities' and tick the 'open now' box at the bottom of the page. It may take up to 24 hours for the website to refresh the listings, if your page isn't appearing after 24 hours, please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com.
If you want to display a special offer on your listing and appear on our special offers pages, follow the above instructions to login to the extranet, choose the product you want to edit, click on 'Actions' > 'Edit Product', navigate to the ‘More’ > 'Special Offers' and fill in the sections accordingly (Listing Level should be basic). It may take up to 24 hours for the website to refresh the listings, if your page isn't appearing after 24 hours, please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com.
Once you have logged in to the extranet and selected your listing, click on the (image) icon in the top left corner and select “edit detail” under your product.
Select “media” tab on the left.
Click “action” in the top right corner and select “upload new media”
IMPORTANT
These are the default images that are assigned to every listing without suitable photography.
If you are seeing a default image, it is because we have not yet received images from you to upload. Don’t worry, uploading your images is easy – please see the above FAQ.
Follow the instructions to login to the extranet
Choose product to edit
Select Media from the list on the left
Click and drag the image you want to move.
Please ensure your images are a minimum size of 1220 x 713 pixels.

Navigate to ‘Product Details’ tab on the left and make any relevant amends.
Log in to the Extranet system
Click on the (image) icon in the top left corner and select “edit detail” under your product.
Select the “descriptions” tab on the left to edit copy.
Descriptions = Body copy of your listing
Short Description = caption before clicking through to your listing
Follow the above instruction to edit your product listing
Highlight the words you want to add a link to
Click the link icon in the menu above.
Type or paste your link.
Send the URL of your TripAdvisor page to digitalteam@makeityork.com
If you want to communicate that you offer a takeaway or delivery service on your product page and to appear on this page detailing delivery & takeaway venues in York, follow the above instructions to login to the extranet, choose the product you want to edit, click on 'Actions' > 'Edit Product', navigate to the ‘Classifications’ > 'Facilities' and tick the 'Take away service' box at the bottom of the page. It may take up to 24 hours for the website to refresh the listings, if your page isn't appearing after 24 hours, please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com.
If you want to communicate that you have an online shop and want to appear on our online shopping page, follow the above instructions to login to the extranet, choose the product you want to edit, click on 'Actions' > 'Edit Product', navigate to the ‘Classifications’ > 'Facilities' and tick the 'Online ordering available' checkbox. It may take up to 24 hours for the website to refresh the listings, if your page isn't appearing after 24 hours, please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com.
If you want to communicate that your business has outside seating or a beer garden, follow the above instructions to login to the extranet, choose the product you want to edit, click on 'Actions' > 'Edit Product', navigate to the ‘Classifications’ > 'Facilities' and tick the 'Outside seating' or 'Beer garden' checkbox. It may take up to 24 hours for the website to refresh the listings, if your page isn't appearing after 24 hours, please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com.

Search the name in the search box on visityork.org and this will display any relevant pages.
To get the most benefit from your product listing and best communicate to site users, ensure your listing has:
Events for the website should be uploaded directly through visityork.org using this link or:
Go to visityork.org
Under “What’s On” section please select “Submit Your Event” and fill in the form.
Please note:
Events may take up to 3 working days to be approved
Approval is at the discretion of the Visit York team and Visit York reserves the right to edit or decline any event.
Events must be submitted with a relevant high-quality image for which you have permission to use. Submissions without any photography will be given a default graphic/image which may not be relevant to the event.
Please ensure your images are a minimum size of 1220 x 713 pixels.
Please also ensure it is relevant and you have the rights to use the image.
You will receive an email within 3 working days to confirm if your event has been approved. If your event is not approved, you will receive feedback as to why so that you can amend and re-submit. Please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com if you have any questions.
Email digitalteam@makeityork.com to change or remove an event.
Yes, you can. To do this, ensure you add multiple tickets when submitting your event.
Use the ‘add another ticket’ button when submitting your event and fill in relevant options.
Yes, you can. Through a partnership with Web Ticket Manager, Visit York members can sell their tickets online through visityork.org

Approved events will appear on visityork.org/whats-on. On occasion they will also appear on seasonal events pages/hub pages.
The Visit York website has a dedicated events page under ‘What’s on’ and you can get the latest news on events, festivals and special offers happening in York by subscribing to Visit York newsletters here.

Visit York members have free access to images in the Visit York image library to use for the promotion of tourism in York.
Please note, images on visityork.org are under copyright so please do not use images directly from the site without prior permission.

If you want to display a special offer on your listing and appear on our LoveYork special offers page, follow the above instructions to login to the extranet, choose the product you want to add a special offer for, click on 'Actions' > 'Edit Product', navigate to the ‘More’ > 'Special Offers' and fill in the sections accordingly (Choose LoveYork as the category and Listing Level should be basic). It may take up to 24 hours for the website to refresh the listings, if your page isn't appearing after 24 hours, please contact digitalteam@makeityork.com.
