About this event

Dear Visit York Member,

What did the Ice Age do for the Romans? Which handsome York lad gave Sherlock Holmes a lift? And who were the microscopic Lister sisters? Find all these answers and more on a Micklegate Meander with York’s Hidden History, as we uncover some of the secrets of York’s ‘Great Street’. Starting at the historic Micklegate Bar, we’ll stroll down to the River Ouse, watching out for alien beasts at Holy Trinity, unusually flavoured sorbets on Fetter’s Lane, and fossils in the cobbles at Queen’s Staith.

Meet – 6.30pm, City Walls Experience, Micklegate Bar

Walk – 7pm, Micklegate Bar to Queen’s Staith

Finish – 8.30pm, Forty-Five Vinyl Café, 29 Micklegate.
