Let us help you organise your trip so you have more time to write. Each year Visit York hosts hundreds of journalists and travel writers in the city, from both the UK and overseas, and across print, online and broadcast media. Visit York can set up press visits or familiarisation trips for writers interested in coming to visit York and write and/or broadcast about their time here.

Please note: We can only offer press trips to journalists and writers with a firm commission. If you're interested in coming to York on a press visit, please contact us with your name, full details on where your article will appear, publication title, circulation, mobile number, email address and details of how you plan to travel to York. Please get in touch, we look forward to seeing you in York.

Press trips with Visit York can include but are not limited to:

  • Up to two nights' accommodation in York for a journalist plus a guest
  • VIP passes to the city's attractions
  • A comprehensive press kit to plan your visit
  • Assistance with rail travel where appropriate

* Please note all requests for media visits are assessed on an individual basis, according to our target markets, circulation, time of year of the request/availability and budgets.
