Celebrate the North’s vibrant street food scene with The Street Food Cook Book

The eagerly anticipated Street Food Cook Book was released on November 30, featuring a compilation of recipes and stories from some of the North’s finest street food specialists, artisan traders and vendors.

The 128 page full colour book features recipes from a few well-known places such as smokehouse Smokin’ Blues, burrito bar Street Food Chef and Buddha Belly which specialises in Thai street food and was the brainchild of MasterChef 2012 contestant Sai.

“After winning multiple awards for our food in 2014, we can’t think of a better way to finish 2015 than being featured in this innovative cookbook. We are so proud to be a part of this exciting and diverse celebration of the best street food recipes!” she said.

This book showcases ambitious and passionate foodies who have brought local ingredients and top-quality cooking to the streets, creating amazing flavour combinations in front of our eyes and dishing them up at affordable prices. Food lovers are spoilt for choice by the numerous exotic food traders and vendors that the North has to offer in areas including Nottingham, Loughborough, Sheffield, Hull, Leeds, Manchester, Darlington and Sunderland.

Among the venues featured are Street Food Chef who received five awards from Eat Sheffield as well as a runners up award in the Observer Food Awards in 2014, Buddha Belly who were Winners of the Central Heat for The British Street Food Awards 2014 and Magpie Café whose famous fish and chips are so loved by the country that they’ve ventured into the street food trend. You will also see contributions from The Hog Stop, Ginger Bakers, Pizza Loco, Fancy an Indian and many, many more – readers will be sure to spot one or two of their favourites, as well as find a few new haunts.
