Speakers of national importance attend York Minster’s Lent Course

The Rt Revd Libby Lane – the Church of England’s first female Bishop - will be among five speakers of national importance to speak at this year’s York Minster Lent Course.

The annual course is designed to help participants discover, through personal reflection and engagement, how the Bible can speak to people today in ways that challenge, encourage and expand their horizons.

The talks start on Thursday (18 February) and will take place in the Quire at York Minster every Thursday at 8pm for the next five weeks. Each session is followed by a service of Compline at 9pm sung by the Ebor Singers.

Dr Chris Collingwood, Canon Chancellor at York Minster, said: “We’re delighted to welcome five fantastic and high profile speakers to York Minster for this year’s Lent Course.

“Each speaker has chosen a biblical passage, book or theme that has been relevant and important to them during their lives, and they will explain – through their personal experience - why it might also speak to others with relevance today.
