News Release - Issued by York Museums Trust

Enjoy an Eyeball Punch, get dressed up and come and watch the classic 30 years after its release

Don your proton pack, enjoy an eyeball punch and sit down to watch Ghostbusters on the big screen this Halloween – 30 years after it was released.

The Yorkshire Museum, York, is opening up its 300 seater cinema for one night only to screen the 80s classic on Friday October 31.
The evening will also include a Halloween themed buffet, complete with Mummified hot dogs (Cumberland sausages wrapped in filo pastry), spicy bat wings (devilled chicken wings) and cupcake spiders.
All the funds raised will be put towards looking after the collections of York Museums Trust.

Jennifer Chadwick, weddings and events manager, said: “This Halloween we thought we would mark the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters with a special screening at the Yorkshire Museum.
“A themed buffet will be included and we hope people will get into the spirit of the event by dressing up in their favourite Halloween costume.”

The event will start at 6:30pm, with the buffet served at 6:45pm. The film will then start at 7:45pm.

Tickets cost £15 including the buffet and a glass of non-alcoholic eye ball punch. Other food on the menu will include witches hat calzone (tomato, mozzarella and pesto), severed finger cheese straws with a devilled red pepper dipping sauce, mini pumpkin pies and homemade parkin.
