Great Yorkshire Fringe show takes takes in the sights of York!

One week to go, and The Great Yorkshire Fringe transformation of Parliament Street will begin...

Coquette presents: Moulin Ouse, coming to The Great Yorkshire Fringe on July 24th and August 1st!

From Monday, July 20th, the transformation of York’s Parliament Street will begin, ahead of the much-anticipated inaugural The Great Yorkshire Fringe. In celebration, some of the fabulous ensemble behind the Coquette presents: Moulin Ouse show took to the riv-er that inspired the show’s name, and did a spot of sight-seeing around the city, taking in famous parts of York.Anne Taylor, spokesperson for The Great Yorkshire Fringe, said: “The troop had a great time taking in the sights of the city, and huge thanks go to YorkBoat for letting us commandeer their Red Boat!”Passers by looked twice as they saw the cast - including burlesque dancers, magic, music and circus performers - taking to the cobbles of The Shambles, Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate, York Minster and of course Parliament Street,which will become a giant village green as part of The Great Yorkshire Fringe.

The fun will kick off on Friday, July 24th with the likes of Al Murray, Sara Pascoe and Henning Wehn all taking to the stage, and the festival will run for a packed ten days, rounding up on Sunday, August 2nd.
Performances will be held in three wonderful purpose built venues that will line Parliament Street - The White Rose Rotunda, The Turn Pot and The Tea Pot.

A fantastic line-up of comedy, cabaret and family entertainment awaits visitors to The Great Yorkshire Fringe, and as the events draws ever-closer, now is the perfect time to book tickets at!

There’s something for everyone, with some great family entertainment in the form of the Julia Donaldson favourite Stick Man - Live on Stage!, James Campbell’s Comedy 4 Kids, Siro-A, plus get hands on with West End Magic Presents - Magic Workshops for Children, and much more.
There’s some amazing cabaret acts joining The Great Yorkshire Fringe, with The Supreme Fabulettes, Thinking Drinkers’ Guide to the Legends of Liquor and Morgan and West’s Utterly Spiffing Spectacular Magic Show - For Kids (and Childish Grown-ups).

Stacks of comedy talent will be hitting York, with Reginald D Hunter, Paul Merton’s Impro Chums, Sara Pascoe, Nick Revell, Paul Chowdry, Tom Stade, Rob Beckett and Paul Foot and many more.
The Great Yorkshire Fringe will also feature a whole host of Yorkshire talent including Jim Higo and Miki Higgins - Never Mind The Pollocks, a ‘genre busting’ comedy show that takes a satirical look at ‘culture and the arts’, Say Owt Slam, York’s only regular poetry slam, The Room: The Musical, a musical parody of what’s routinely cited as the best bad film ever, Sam & Tom from TV who will be ‘knocking out’ some skits and one of the UK’s hottest young comedy talents Tony Jameson performs his new stand up show.

The Great Yorkshire Fringe Pop Up Shop is open for business in the heart of the city - taking over part of Visit York’s Information Centre in Museum Street, The Pop Up Shop is open every day from 10.30am to 3.30pm until this Saturday, July 18th.

Our Box Office will be open for business on Parliament Street from Monday, July 20th.
