About us

York Castle Museum provides a charming venue for smaller evening wedding receptions, giving your perfect day a warm, nostalgic feel which that is sure to be enjoyed by family and friends alike.

The Museum's recreated Victorian Street, Kirkgate, can host seated banquets for up to 80 guests, with the tables arranged on the main street.
Your reception will be set against the unique backdrop of our authentic shop fronts, packed with historic goods, perfect for memorable photographs.

The Museum can also host buffet receptions for larger numbers of guests and a site visit is highly recommended if you are interested in this venue.

The nearest car park is the Castle car park, next to Clifford's Tower, which has 305 spaces. This car park is off Clifford Street, off the inner ring road, most easily reached from the A19 to the south of the city or the A1036 to the south west.

By Public Transport:
York Castle Museum is in the centre of York, close to Clifford's Tower and the Coppergate Shopping Centre. Follow the green pedestrian signs to the 'Castle Area'.

It is 20 to 25 minutes' walk from York Railway Station.
