Daytime York City Cruise
Escape the hustle and bustle of the City and relax with us. A great photographic opportunity and chance to see the fascinating buildings, bridges and historic sights on the River Ouse in York. Look for stunning wildlife including Kingfishers. Treat yourself to a drink from the bar and rest your feet!

Our daytime York City Cruises sail nearly all year round, with at least four departures from each of our landings per day. Sailing daily 3rd February to 25th November 2018, with regular sailings from 10:30am to 3pm from King's Staith and from 10:40am to 3:10pm from Lendal Bridge.

The York City Cruise sails for 45 minutes or 1 hour. You can save at least 10% on daytime York City Cruise tickets by booking ahead online; click here to make a booking.

Self Drive Red Boats

Enjoy a leisurely half hour or maximum one-hour hire, exploring York from the helm of your own self-drive motorboat. Become a captain and explore the sites of York’s riverside in style!

City Cruises York Afternoon Tea Cruise
A delightful 1 hour and 45 minute cruise with a selection of dainty home-made sandwiches, fruit scone with preserve & cream and delicious finger desserts. All served with freshly brewed tea and coffee. This cruise sails from our King’s Staith Landing only. The cruise will also include an informative commentary from our local, knowledgeable skipper as you sail through the city and then downstream to Bishopthorpe Palace, the stunning riverside residence of His Grace the Archbishop of York.

City Cruises York Lunch Cruise
Following the same route as the Afternoon Tea Cruises, enjoy a delicious 2 course, buffet-style lunch served on board the Captain James Cook. Your dessert will also be accompanied by a tea or coffee.

City Cruises York Early Evening Cruise
Make the most of your time in York and join the Early Evening Cruise. A 1 hour guided river trip suitable for the whole family, with interesting stories of York's fascinating and colourful history.

City Cruises York Floodlit Evening Cruise
See York in a different light on a 70 minute floodlit tour. Relax onboard and enjoy a mixture of background music and captain's commentary. Departing at 9.15pm from the King's Staith Landing. A great way to end your evening in York.

City Cruises York Party Nights Afloat BBQ Cruise
A 3 hour party cruise which includes boarding drink, disco, 2 course BBQ and a 3 hour floodlit cruise. Departing at 7.30pm from Lendal Bridge.

Bishopthorpe Palace Christmas Cruise
Sailing daily from the 1st to the 23rd of December, our Bishopthorpe Palace Christmas Cruise is an ideal way to escape the busy shopping streets and step into the Christmas spirit.

Wheelchair access is usually available on the York City Cruise from our King's Staith landing stage only. A full access statement is available on the City Cruises York website.

Please note that we have two departure points on the River Ouse in the City of York. Lendal Bridge - The following cruises sail from the Lendal Bridge Landing: York City Cruises, Party Nights Afloat, Christmas Nights Afloat, Santa Experience, Some Private Charters. The nearest car parks to Lendal Bridge are Marygate Car Park (YO30 7DT) and Esplanade Car Park (YO1 6FZ). King's Staith - The following cruises sail from King's Staith: York City Cruises, Self Drive Red Boats, Early Evening Cruise, Floodlit Evening Cruise, Afternoon Tea Cruise, Lunch Cruise, River Bus, Some Private Hires The nearest car parks to King's Staith are St Georges Field Car Park (YO10 4AB) and Castle Car Park (YO1 9SA). By Road: York has good road links from the A1 via the A59, A64 and A19. Simply follow the signs for the city centre, signposted from the A1237 Outer Ring Road & A64 Bypass. Park & Ride: With six cleverly located sites surrounding the city centre getting into York has never been easier. www.yorkparkandride.co.uk. Parking: with charge. Accessible by Public Transport: 1 mile from York station
