The National Railway Museum in York offers visitors the chance to explore the history of rail travel and see some of the most iconic railway legends up close.

Visitors can see the world's fastest steam locomotive, Mallard, and the Japanese bullet train, as well as the original Stephenson's Rocket. The museum also houses a collection of luxurious royal carriages and offers daily turntable demonstrations and steam rides.

Visitors can also enjoy a miniature railway, daily talks and tours, and a range of activities during school holidays. The museum also has cafes where visitors can relax and refuel, as well as a shop where visitors can purchase railway-inspired gifts and souvenirs.
