Gray's Court Hotel

Grays Court is one of the most historic buildings in England and the oldest continuously inhabited house in York. As an independently owned boutique hotel, Grays Court is just a two-minute walk from York Minster. We boast 12 individual and lovingly restored bedrooms with views over York Minster, York Minster property gardens, our cobbled courtyard or our own spectacular gardens, which lead to the only privately-owned access on to York City Walls.

We have been awarded the Visit York Tourism Awards Hotel of the Year 2018/2019 and were also voted the most opulent hotel in York by The Independent newspaper. As a small privately-owned boutique hotel in the center of York, we offer the ideal venue for small groups who can take either exclusive use of the hotel or utilize one, or a choice of, our 12 bedrooms.

We have a wonderful on-site restaurant, The Bow Room Restaurant, which has 2 AA Rosette accreditation. Grays Court is proud to be a member of the Historic Houses Association and as such this makes staying with us an immersive and unique experience. Guests are welcome to luxuriate in our beautiful gardens and grounds at leisure.

We are able to offer guests exclusive use of the house comprising use of all 12 bedrooms, the public areas, and grounds exclusively for private parties to the exclusion of any other guests. We are the only hotel in York to offer this facility and have arranged collaborations with several local partners to offer a range of activities, ranging from shooting parties to Minster tours, included with your stay.
