Independent Venue Week is a 7-day celebration of music venues around the country and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out. Now in its 8th year, #IVW21 runs from 25th - 31st January 2021 and will focus on online and digital content for all to enjoy.

York’s venues will be coming together to raise awareness of the great venues in the city which continue to support local and national artists. These venues give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience and give fans somewhere to get up close to artists that one day, may well be playing stadiums and festival main stages. They also provide those wanting a career in music, off the stage, the chance to learn their craft up close in a small venue.
 
From The Crescent Community Venue, The Fulford Arms to Viccy Vaults and The National Centre for Early Music, 2020 has been a challenging year for the music venues of York, but #IVW21 promises to be a celebration of the resilience of these venues and the key part they play in our local communities.
