Fairfax Room

About

Let Fairfax House transport you to the splendour of city-living behind closed doors in Georgian York. Originally the winter home of Viscount Fairfax and his daughter Anne, it's richly decorated interiors and magnificent stucco ceilings make it an architectural masterpiece. Fairfax House vividly recalls a lost world of 1760s-life, with a beautiful collection of furniture and furnishings recreating the opulence, grandeur and comfort which once existed. Families can also meet Gregory, The Townhouse Mouse, and enjoy his award-winning children's trail and quest and with an exciting programme of events and exhibitions, there is always a reason to come and savour Fairfax House.
