Verdi’s mighty vision for his Requiem encompasses heaven and hell, fire and earth, darkness and light, and operatic drama, with enduring power to move and inspire. Hearing Verdi’s Requiem live is a monumental and moving experience. Conductor Sir Mark Elder has brought together his superb Hallé Orchestra and Choir with a stellar line-up of soloists for a one-off performance in York’s magnificent Minster for the Ryedale Festival.
