During the weekend...
Pickering Station
Head back to the 1940s at Pickering to pay homage to the decade when the four major rail operators were amalgamated into British Railways, the formation of the NHS and the 1948 London Olympics were all in the headlines, along with trade stands and period displays.
Join us in ‘The Sidings’ for a pint or two at the on-site bar whilst listening to exhilarating 1940s music from Ricky Hunter and Kitty Lamar, transporting you back to this enchanting time-period.
Levisham Station
Stop off at rural Levisham Station and be transported to the 1950s with an agricultural engine display and vintage tractors.
Goathland Station
Grab a ticket to ride to Goathland and feel the vibrant energy and spirit of the 1960s as we take you on a nostalgic journey through one of the most influential decades in history with live music on Saturday and Sunday (acts tbc).
Enjoy a display of 60s classic vehicles, children’s activities, and live music. There will also be a selection of ales available from the tearoom, and a visit wouldn’t be the same without a walk into the village to see where the popular TV show Heartbeat was set. Also, there will be a family station trail and opportunity to see our temporary exhibition in the new Learning Coach on the history of the railway.
Grosmont Station
Dust off your bell-bottoms as we groove through the disco era of the 1970s with live music on Saturday and Sunday (acts tbc).
To coincide with the NYMR’s 50th Anniversary, Grosmont Station will also have a photographic display with information on the history and opening day of the railway.
