It might be cold, murky, miserable and disgusting outside, but fear not, we are still open and it is at least miserable and disgusting inside the Dungeon too!
Get ready to journey back through 2000 Years of York's darkest History as you see, hear and (ahem) smell the cities murky past!
Prepare to come face to face with the mighty Vikings and learn all about their Saxon enemies before meeting some of York’s most notorious characters including the (in)famous Guy Fawkes and local witch Isabella Billington as history is brought to life before your eyes!
Feel the dark shadows of the black plague and experience the fearsome torture chamber as you laugh, learn and scream your way through the cities most ‘orrible history!
With live actors, dark history, immersive sets and amazing special effects… the only question is are you brave enough to step into the depths of the York Dungeon?

Standard opening times:
- Saturday: 10am to 5pm (& Dungeon Lates 6:30pm to 7:30pm)
- Sunday: 10am to 4pm
- Monday to Friday: 11am to 4pm

Younger peasants must be aged 5 and over, however the York Dungeon is not recommended for under 8's.
