Go behind the scenes of the once-a-century refurbishment of York Minster’s Grand Organ through a new photography exhibition documenting the extraordinary craft skills which went into the £2m project.
The exhibition features images by York-based photographer Duncan Lomax documenting the instrument’s refurbishment, the first on this scale since 1903, and the work of the organ experts and conservation specialists who carried it out.
See project highlights including the delicate cleaning and painting of the original case pipes by graining and marbling specialists Robert Woodland & Son and unique views inside the organ case which show the scale and complexity of the instrument.
Included with general admission.
