About
Discover new research on Saint Margaret Clitherow and the mystery behind how her relic came to be housed in the Bar Convent’s 18th century chapel.
Using unseen documents from our archives, students from York St John’s University have been investigating the unsolved questions: How did this internationally known relic come to be at the convent? When was it brought here? Why is it here?
We will be sharing this research alongside archive material that has never been on display before, to mark the anniversary of her death (March 25th 1586) and International Women’s Day (March 8th).
New interpretation will also explore Saint Margaret Clitherow’s links with a network of fellow Catholic female recusants.
Included in admission to the exhibition.
