About
Join York Minster’s associate choirs for an evening of breath-taking choral music accompanied by the cathedral’s Grand Organ in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Ebor Singers and The Chapter House Choir will join with musicians from York Minster for a traditional jubilee celebration with a modern twist in the beautiful setting of the cathedral’s Nave.
The programme will feature popular coronation pieces, including Handel’s Zadok the Priest, alongside music associated with the royal family and York Minster, including pieces by Francis Jackson and Philip Moore.
It will be one of the first concerts to feature York Minster’s newly restored Grand Organ accompanying the choirs, following the instrument’s once-in-a-century refurbishment which was completed last year.
Tickets will be available from early May with prices ranging from £8.00 to £18.50 and with a concession rate of £5 for people aged under 27.
The concert is part of a summer of music at York Minster which includes a spectacular Jazz Eucharist in June featuring music from Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts and The Grand Organ Returns – The Inaugural Recital Series, which will run during July and August.
