Join the York wide search for the garden ghosts with two new temporary residents at Treasurer's House. Get up close and personal on open days from 23 September - 7 November.
York is one of the ghostliest cities around and following their success in Museum Gardens last year, the ghosts are back…bigger and in more gardens than ever.
In the Treasurer’s House garden looks out for a ghostly Edwardian gentleman, could it be Mr. Frank Green the former owner? And a Roman ghost – reminiscent of one of the most infamous spooky stories to emerge from Treasurer’s House.
During this time, head into the basement, to find out a little more about the ongoing sightings and senses of several spirits in the house, collected from visitors and members of the team and documented over the years to spot patterns and genuinely spooky repetitions.
Even when closed, the ghosts will be visible but visit during opening hours to get close to the skilfully formed mesh sculptures. Open Saturday - Wednesday, 11am - 4pm.
This year’s display promises to be bigger and better with ghosts added to more of York’s beautiful city centre gardens including Merchant Adventurers Hall, Middletons Hotel, The Artists Garden and St Anthony’s Garden.
Thanks to the York BID (Business Improvement District) for the city-wide event of Ghosts in the Gardens.
