Join Paranormal Research York as we exclusively investigate this amazing 650 year old building on the edge of York's famous Shambles.
Ghostly sightings - The owners have told us about some strange sightings within the building and they have told us the top floor is very haunted. The owners and staff have seen dark shapes move around the top floor, things have been moved when no-one is in the building and footsteps and noises are heard. We have connected with the spirit of a man who told us his passing was not peaceful, a woman who doesn’t like the building when it is busy and a few other spirits who happily made themselves known.
The history - 12 Newgate dates back to 1337 and is reputed to be the second oldest house in York, built on the edge of St Sampson's Churchyard. The building has been a family home since it was built, with the ground floor used as shop premises. Traders included General Dealers, Millers and Bakers, families were born here, raised and died here. Join us as we start to unravel the stories that this 650 year old building is starting to tell.
