Anne Lister in the House

Anne Lister will be at the Barley Hall Molly House, telling tales of her life in Yorkshire and the notes from her famous diary. She will, of course, be sharing stories of her romances with Mariana Belcombe and Ann Walker, which had her dubbed the 'first modern lesbian' and saw her immortalised in popular culture through television series' like Gentleman Jack.

Why not grab a coffee and a cake from our very own 18th century coffee house, which for the month of June, we have turned into the Molly House, a welcoming community space for the LGBTQ+ community to meet and mingle.

Anne Lister will be in the Barley Hall Court Yard, on the hour, every hour from 11am-3pm.
