If you would like to learn more about nature by going on a short mindful walk then why not join me on one of my walks? Mindfulness is a type of meditation which helps people let go of negative thoughts and emotions and helps them enjoy living in the moment. Walking in a natural environment is proven to be good for your physical and mental health. My walks are between 1.5 and 4 miles. Most of the walks are in the Howardian Hills, an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty between the North York Moors and Easingwold, and the Southern edge of the North York Moors. Although some of the walks have a few steep paths, most of the walks are flat and easy underfoot and I try to avoid stiles as much as possible. The idea is to take our time on the walk and to be aware of our movements and ensure that we really look at the things around us. All the walks include mindfulness exercises which are designed to fully use our senses to relax and enjoy the present. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on most of the walks.
I run walks on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons and alternate Saturdays. Booking is essential and the cut-off point for booking a walk is 10 pm on the day before the walk.
