Micklegarth is located in the garden village of New Earswick, founded by the Rowntree family of chocolate fame. It is peacefully situated near the end of a private road. There is a lawned front garden and mature, secluded rear garden with beautiful trees and shrubs, as well as a summerhouse and outside dining area where you can relax with a glass of wine after your day’s sightseeing. Deer can sometimes be seen in the open fields beyond the garden.
Inside, the open-plan living area is light and airy. The well-equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is a large dining table where you can enjoy a family meal and talk over the events of the day, with French doors leading to the garden. The comfortable sitting room has a flatscreen TV, DVD player and DAB radio, as well as two well-stocked bookcases for quiet evenings in, and some jigsaw puzzles and board games for family fun.
After a busy day exploring all that York has to offer, retire to your spacious double bedroom. After a good night’s sleep you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy the views of nature in the garden. There is also a cosy twin bedroom. Bed linen is included.
The opulent bathroom features a walk-in shower and large bath; towels are provided. The basin has a electric shaving socket above it. There is also a separate toilet and wash basin off the main hallway.
The house is fully insulated, with gas central heating controlled by the guest. A fast and reliable Wifi connection is provided. There is a washing machine. Travel cot and highchair are available on request.
