Explore one of York’s oldest and important churches with roots in York’s early history.
A church has stood on this site for over 1000 years. It was once a Benedictine monastery and is the only one in York to survive as a regular place of worship. Visit the exhibition on York’s monastic and medieval past, see how the Victorians restored the church and hunt for the ancient Saxon carved stones.
