Across our four leisure centres: Energise Leisure Centre, York Leisure Centre, Yearsley Pool and Burnholme Sports Centre, there is a great range of activities to choose from.

Family Friendly Activities

Clip n Climb: located with York Leisure Centre Clip ‘N Climb Arena provides a range of colourful climbing walls, providing fun and adventure for both child and adult climbers alike. Suitable for those aged 4 and up.

Our York clip and climb sessions include a quick induction so you’re ready to scale the heights. Each 7.5m climbing panel is also equipped with auto belay – an automatic safety feature – to take up the slack as you climb then lower you gently and securely to the floor.

Open every day during school holidays and Friday – Sundays term time.

New for 2023: A SEN focused Clip 'n' Climb session with reduced capacity and no music to support any sensory sensitivities. The Clip 'n' Climb Arena provides a range of colourful climbing walls, providing fun and adventure for both child and adult climbers alike. Fridays at 3:40 – 4:40pm

Swimming:

Energise Leisure Centre: 25meter main pool, smaller learner pool and hydrotherapy pool.

York Leisure Centre: 25meter main pool, smaller learner pool and toddlers splash pad with toddler slide and interactive play systems.

Yearsley Swimming Pool: 45.7meter main pool.

Swim For All: Open pool for general swimming

Swim For Fitness: Lane Swimming

Aqua Splash: Inflatable Session (Only available at Yearsley Swimming Pool)

Inclusive Swimming: A swimming session for people with disabilities and their carers and family in a friendly and safe environment. Pool Hoist assisted entry to the pool and easy access steps available. Available at Energise Leisure Centre: Tuesday 10.30 - 11.45am and Sunday 2.45 - 3.45pm and York Leisure Centre on Saturdays at 16:15 – 17:15.

Toddlers World Soft Play

Situated within York Leisure Centres Sports Hall, Toddlers World is our fun and interactive soft play session for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

As part of our soft play area, our brand new Jungle Bouncer has an integrated soft matting area with jungle animal play shapes. There is also a separate matted area, again with more fun soft play shapes.

Available: Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays 9am – 12pm

Fitness Classes: We have classes for the whole community, from high-energy dance or cardio classes to strength, conditioning, mind and body. There’s something for everyone across all centres. Available to members and non members.

Gym: Wherever you are on your fitness journey, the centres gyms have been designed with a range of equipment to suit everyone’s needs including a range of inclusive fitness equipment.

Offering a range of flexible options including monthly DD memberships with no contracts, short term memberships from one day to two weeks, annual options, as well as pay as you go options.
