When you're visiting a new city, one of the first things you have to think about is where you're going to eat and how you're going to fit in all of that sightseeing. Well, what if we told you that you can do both at once?

Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours takes you on a culinary adventure through York. A knowledgeable guide will lead a small group through the streets of York, stopping for five tasters at five independent restaurants and eateries, telling the story of York’s relationship with the world.

What to expect from your tour

Each tour lasts 2.5 hours and you will walk about a mile at a slow pace around the city centre, stopping at five places. There will be three savoury courses and two sweet, with one offering alcohol (non-alcoholic alternatives are available).

The tour takes place whatever the weather, as most tastings take place inside. One tasting does take place in the market, so layers and an umbrella are recommended.

We recommend not having a big breakfast, as by the end of the tour you will be pleasantly full, both of food and information about the local food scene. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the business owners who passionately create the food you will enjoy.

You can choose to take the tour with yourself and a friend and join a small group of fellow foodies, or you can opt to bring along your own small group. Take a tour as a family or for a friend’s birthday. We also cater for different dietary requirements and will do our best to accommodate them.
