This independent 42 seat casual dining restaurant situated within the city walls has a seasonal menu devised by a team of creative chefs that draws from Yorkshire’s abundance of produce. The restaurant is housed in a Grade II* listed building, and has surprise Roman remains to view by request in the basement.

Our Owlet shop offers organic wine, boutique beers and has welcomed the wonderful Haxby Baker and ShutiShuti Patisserie.

On foot, the Rattle Owl is 5 minutes' walk away from the main line station. The restaurant is also 5 minutes' walk away from York's main shopping areas. For this route from the city centre, Micklegate is best accessed over Lendal Bridge via Museum Street, or over Ouse Bridge via Bridge Street. Both routes are a combination of pavement, curbs and include one road to traverse via traffic light crossings.
