The Gyrocopter Experience

The Gyrocopter Experience

The Gyrocopter Experience York offers flights around York and the surrounding countryside in either open-cockpit or enclosed-cockpit gyrocopters. Flights are usually scheduled on a Saturday as we’re a full time pilot training school during the week.

We offer introductory flights in a Gyrocopter on Saturdays.

We have open-cockpit and enclosed-cockpit models available. Each flight experience includes an introduction to gyros and how they fly, along with a tour of our hangar and mini museum. Friends and family of the person taking the flight are invited to this introductory session. There will be an important safety briefing and we will provide flying suit, helmet and gloves if flying in an open-cockpit gyro. There will be opportunity to take the controls during the flight.

People flying with us should be over 16 years in age, under 16 stone in weight and in reasonable general health.

Sept 2017 – we are currently undergoing some renovation. There are temporary toilet facilities (portaloo) but we hope to have new toilet facilities in place during October. Next spring the renovation should be completed and it is hoped that a café for members of the public will be opened.
