Details

Inside the Italian-inspired house the grand rooms are a perfect backdrop for the rich collection of portraits from the National Portrait Gallery. Find out about the families and other people who have lived here including RAF aircrews and how they have all left their mark on the history of Beningbrough.

Relax on the sunny restaurant terrace sampling food including the harvest from the walled garden or stroll among glorious borders with over 8 acres to explore. The year starts with a newly created walk full of hundreds of thousands of spring bulbs, quickly followed by blossom from the fruit trees. The plentiful borders take over in high summer right into autumn with dahlias giving colour through to the first frosts.

The wilderness play area and interactive galleries are popular with families, whatever the weather! There's a packed programme of events on most school holidays.

Stay a bit longer as Lord and Lady of the manor in the beautiful surroundings of Beningbrough Hall in the self-catered holiday accommodation situated above the Victorian Laundry. With superb views of the surrounding countryside and exclusive out-of-hours access to the gardens and grounds, you can enjoy the city and escape to the country at the same time.
