How to organise...

There were 10 us on a stag do... organised by the Best Man, in his university city, the great city of York...

But there was some background, the Best Man even though he is an airline pilot, is legendary for his lack of organisational ability... To illustrate, on one boys trip away to Le Mans, he arrived at the Eurostar terminal... sans passport... and he?s pilot ? Heaven help us... we thought, we?re not going to make it further than the hotel without some foul up of biblical proportions happening...

Anyway, arrived in York on Friday afternoon, had a few beers and a meal. Went go-carting on the Saturday and by the evening we hadn?t lost a phone, a person or a wallet... So on the Saturday evening we repaired to the hotel bar to be advised of the forthcoming evenings activities...

What was it to be...? we had no idea... and even less of an idea, when the best Man advised cryptically ?This evening gentlemen, my task is to prove you all wrong....?

So off we set, knowing not where were heading and, after a short walk, we arrived at the York Brewery, to be ushered to the bar... whereupon the Best Man stood on a chair and uttered the immortal words... Au contrare ye of little faith. I can, and I have organised a P*** Up In Brewery?

And what a night it was... we toured the brewery and were shown round by someone who was genuinely passionate about what they did and most importantly, passionate about what they produced. It was great seeing the process that has remained pretty much unchanged for hundreds of years, in a real brewery... a brewery that isn?t interested in the mechanisation and production methods of the multi-nationals... oh, and they turn out lovely ale...

Anyway, after the tour, we had the bar to ourselves, were fed and (very) liberally watered, played games and sang songs that the mother in law to be, would have most definitely shuddered at...

The Best Man had done it, and done it in great style... He?d organised the proverbial P*** Up In A Brewery... At a fantastic location... York Brewery... a great trip and if you like your beer, one I can really recommend... Go there...!
